Gap gauge made of brass with handle, just fits over ends of bar at room temperature. It includes two holes which just accept the ends of the bar. The bar won’t fit the gap gauge when heated.

Suitable for the demonstration of convection currents in the air. A metal box 20 x 10 x 10cm with baked enamel finish has a sliding glass plate front and two glass chimneys. A candle is placed under one of the chimneys and a smoke source is held at the tip of the other chimney to reveal the flow of convection current. Candle and smoke source not included.

To demonstrate and determine the coefficient of volume expansion of liquids. A borosilicate glass bulb with a funnel top capillary stem to hold 10ml of liquid. The capillary stem is graduated to 0.05 x 0.01ml.

To show the maximum density of water, a metal cylinder with two tubulures in the lower and upper part for carrying thermometers is mounted on a base and encircled midway along its length by a gallery for holding a mixture of ice and salt. To record the melting point temperatures of different solid substances easily and economically. It consists of an aluminum alloy cylinder of 63mm dia and 50mm high with a slanting hole of 7mm dia drilled in the top for a thermometer. The melting point can be recorded by placing the sample of substance on the top of the cylinder and heating it gently with a Bunsen Burner.
